Outpatient Treatment Program in Southern California

Sunrise Ranch offers a high-quality outpatient program in Southern California. To best serve our clients, we provide gender-specific programming throughout our network of treatment facilities in Southern California.

Transitioning from Our Residential Treatment Program

Residential treatment is often the first step along the journey towards a recovered and sober life. The treatment centers within the Sunrise Ranch network recognize the importance of offering men and women the continuing care they need to both hone their existing skills and learn additional recovery skills, and are proud to offer partial hospitalization programming (PHP) as the second step in their care.

Outpatient Treatment at The Rose

At The Rose, comprehensive treatment is a seamless three-phase process, starting with residential treatment and continuing through our partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP). By the time a woman has completed all three phases of our program, she will have achieved 30 to 90 days of sobriety and will have developed the skills and strategies that will support her successful pursuit of long-term recovery.

Because we understand that women who have completed treatment at another program can benefit from our outpatient services, we created The Rose II. This option includes the PHP and IOP experiences, and is only available to women who have successfully completed residential care elsewhere. The Rose does not offer IOP as a standalone option for women who have not participated in a residential program.

Within our intensive outpatient program, participants benefit from highly personalized programming that has been specifically developed to address the unique challenges experienced by women during early recovery. Treatment modalities in IOP include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

Women who participate in IOP services through either The Rose or The Rose II will also take part in several therapeutic and recreational activities each day. Depending upon her unique treatment plan, a woman’s time in IOP may include individual and group therapy, family systems treatment, trauma resolution, co-dependency treatment, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and experiential therapies such as hypnotherapy and art therapy.

Outpatient Treatment at The Landing

One of the main objectives of intensive outpatient programming at The Landing is to provide participants with the ideal combination of independence and support. Having completed residential treatment, IOP participants have already taken their first steps in early recovery, and have begun to make the changes that will empower them to achieve long-term sobriety. While in IOP, men have the opportunity to build upon the progress that they made in residential care and put their newly developed skills into practice in real-world situations, secure in the understanding that they will still be able to receive structured support from peers and experienced professionals.

While in IOP at The Landing, men begin the work of rebuilding their lives outside of a treatment environment. To support this effort, our IOP services include professional development and life skills, and if appropriate, men have the opportunity to receive job training or even obtain part-time work. Of course, the transition out of treatment can be a stressful experience, and our IOP services also address this reality. In the mornings, men in IOP can take part in meditation sessions, group therapy, and experiential therapies. As was the case during residential treatment, groups can be invaluable opportunities to share insights, learn from the experiences of peers, and refine and enhance the effective communication skills that can play such a key role in recovery.

IOP at The Landing also offers several opportunities for men to deepen their understanding of the 12-Step Model of addiction recovery and learn how to incorporate the principles and practices of this model into their daily lives. Each evening, men in the IOP program have the opportunity to participate in 12-Step meetings and groups.

Because our IOP services are designed to build upon progress that was begun during residential care, The Landing does not offer IOP as a standalone treatment option. However, because we realize that men who were treated at other residential programs can benefit from the outpatient treatment that we have provided, we created The Landing II. To be eligible to enroll in The Landing II, which offers a combination of PHP and IOP services, a man must have completed residential treatment for chemical dependency at another program.
