Veterans Affairs

Sunrise Recovery Ranch is proud to serve members of the U.S. military community who are seeking behavioral health treatment through the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Care Network.

What Is the Community Care Network?

In 2018, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Care Network (CCN) was created to link the VA with trusted providers across the United States and U.S. territories.

The goal was to provide veterans with easier access to the behavioral healthcare they needed with minimal delay. With the development of the CCN, veterans can receive treatment at any VA facility or authorized provider near them.

The VA is divided into six different regions across all 50 states as well as several U.S. territories. Third-party administrators (TPAs) have contracts with the VA to promote transparency and improve communication between the regions. TPAs are in charge of serving and administering their assigned regions within the VA.

Currently, the VA has contracts with Optum Public Sector Solutions Inc. and TriWest Healthcare Alliance, serving five of its regions, while the sixth region is still uncontracted.

In 2019, the VA formed its contract with TriWest, allowing it to serve as the TPA for Region 4 of the CCN. Region 4 includes 12 states in the western United States as well as Hawaii.

In 2020, the VA added TriWest as the TPA for Region 5, which includes Ala
